Shipping and Delivery Policy
Last updated 6 September 2026. Shaly Foods Inc., a company registered in British Columbia, Canada.
This page sets out where we deliver, how orders travel, and who carries the risk at each stage. It forms part of our terms of sale.
Where we deliver
- Metro Vancouver. Our own refrigerated trucks, on standing routes. You pick a delivery day and an order cut-off when you open the account.
- BC Interior and Vancouver Island. Scheduled refrigerated routes.
- Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Refrigerated LTL and full pallets.
- Ontario, Quebec and east. Refrigerated freight for standing volume accounts.
We ship within Canada only. If you are outside a route above, ask us. We quote freight case by case against the arrival calendar.
Minimum order
$300 to $500 depending on your delivery area. We sell by the carton and the pallet, and mixed pallets across the range count toward the minimum.
Lead times
Local standing-route accounts order against a weekly cut-off and receive on their scheduled day. Out-of-province orders are booked against the arrival calendar for the crop, because most of what we carry is imported and lands on a shipping schedule rather than sitting in year-round inventory.
Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith. Fresh produce moves with crop, weather, port and border timing. We tell you as soon as we know a date has moved. A missed estimate is not a breach of contract and does not by itself entitle you to cancel a confirmed order.
Cold chain
Product is held and moved under refrigeration appropriate to the crop, from our facility to your door. Long-haul freight and local delivery are set up differently, and we explain both in our guide to how refrigerated wholesale delivery works.
Freight charges
Metro Vancouver delivery on our own trucks is included above the minimum order unless your quote says otherwise. Out-of-province freight is quoted per shipment and shown on your invoice. Fuel surcharges applied by carriers are passed through at cost.
Receiving a delivery
Someone at your business needs to be there to receive, count and sign for the shipment during your agreed window. Check the count and the condition of the product before you sign.
If a delivery cannot be made because nobody is available, the address is wrong, or access is blocked, we may charge the redelivery or the return freight. Perishable product that cannot be delivered may not be salvageable, and we will tell you before we write it off.
Title and risk
Risk of loss or damage passes to you when the goods are delivered to your premises, or to your nominated carrier if you arrange your own freight. Title stays with Shaly Foods Inc. until the invoice is paid in full.
If you arrange your own carrier, temperature control and transit condition from pickup onward are between you and that carrier.
Shortages and damage on arrival
Note anything short or visibly damaged on the delivery paperwork at the time of receipt, then follow the returns, refunds and claims policy. Claims are much harder to resolve once product has been signed for clean and put away.
Delays outside our control
Crop failure, weather, port congestion, customs and border action, carrier breakdown, strikes and government orders can all move a delivery. We are not liable for loss caused by those delays, and we will work with you on the alternatives available that week.
